First Biennial Convention of the Ghana Catholic Charismatic Renewal – North America

The North American prayer groups of the Ghana Charismatic Renewal composed of prayer groups in several states of the US and Canada held its first biennial convention under the theme “The New Evangelization: A Call to Live, Deepen and Share our Christian Faith” from Friday, June 28 to Sunday, June 30, 2013. The main speakers at the convention were Rev. Fr. Stephen Bilson-Ogoe and Mr. Anthony Osei Assibey, the National Coordinator of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in Ghana. The convention was hosted by the Ghana Catholic Community of the Arlington Diocese and the Virginia Prayer group and was held at the St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Fallschurch, VA.

Rev. Fr. Stephen Bilson-Ogoe spoke on the topic “The New Evangelization: A Call to Live, Deepen and Share Our Christian Faith” and Bro. Anthony Osei Assibey “Holy Spirit: The Agent of Evangelization”.

The convention brought together over 250 participants – including several priests – from various parts of the country in prayer, praise and worship. Music ministration was provided by a combined Worship Team lead by Bro. Emmanuel Tamakloe from the National Secretariat of the Ghana Charismatic Renewal. The leadership of the Ghana Catholic Charismatic Renewal – North America was commissioned during the convention and includes Dr. Samuel G. Awuah, Coordinator, Bro. Matthew Oduro-Sarpong, Assistant Coordinator, Bro. Richard Akomaning, Secretary, Bro. Donatus Kotogbor, Financial Secretary, Bro. Kofi Nyame, Media and Technology Director and Dr. Gabriel Amoateng-Boahen, Missions Director.
